Vintners Foundation Adds to Sonoma Flood Relief Efforts

As we reported last week, several agencies have begun fundraising for victims of the early March floods in Sonoma County. This week, Sonoma County Vintners Foundation added to those efforts with a $50,000 donation toward the United Way of the Wine Country Sonoma County Flood Recovery & Wellness Fund. United Way will leverage the funds with an additional matching gift opportunity.

The Sonoma County Vintners Foundation Emergency Relief Fund was established in 2017, shortly after the North Coast wildfires, in order to respond to needs in Sonoma County arising from natural disasters and other emergencies. The foundation also distributes funds annually through their Community Grants program.

The County of Sonoma estimates that more than 2,000 properties in the lower Russian River were damaged by the late February floods.
