Spend a day with this wine and see where it leads you. It starts out tense and turfy, showing vinosity and rocky minerality that seems part of the Temperance Hill signature. With air the wine becomes brighter, fresher, more transparent, the fruit taking on a delicate raspberry flavor limned by a sweet tobacco earthiness. There’s a stiff basalt feel to the tannins and a taut fruit-skin grip, as if each cluster caught the Eola Hills wind like a spinnaker framing a stiff breeze. (150 cases)
