A substantial tasting bar dominates the front of the Bottle Shop, a sign that owners Lisa and Dave Coviello are serious about offering an educational experience alongside their wines. In addition to the frequent in-store tastings, they’ll open almost any bottle requested. Chalkboards and corkboard-pinned notes sit above the bottle racks while the staff’s friendly dogs roam the store. And while they do offer recognizable labels like Meiomi or Charles & Charles, the emphasis is on affordable ($13 to $20) and off-the-beaten-path options like Txakoli Ameztoi and sparkling Vin du Bugey-Cerdon rose by Raphael Bartucci, wines that aren’t readily available anywhere else in Tennessee.
