Bar ’91

While the wine list isn’t as extensive as the one at Eli’s Table, the choices at Bar ’91 are outrageously good for a cozy bistro near Museum Mile. Owner Eli Zabar and wine director Kilian Robin offer more than enough on the one-page list to keep a wine lover amused, from Equipo Navazos Sherries, col fondo Prosecco and crémant from Tissot in France’s Jura to classic Burgundies and obscure hits, like Rosi Schuster grüner and Evan Bakke Côtes de Ventoux—all under $100 and available by the glass. If you want to go deeper, order the zucchini fries and the reserve list: The fries come piled high, crisp-tender and delicious; the list is fat with bottles that Zabar has been sitting on—particularly Burgundy, his deepest obsession.
