

Parallax marks the return of Chef Zack Bruell, formerly of Cleveland’s acclaimed restaurant Z. This time around he’s partnered with David Schneider, co-founder of Chicago’s Bin 36, to create a contemporary fish house. Here, in a sleek, spare room, with jade green banquettes and blonde wood tables, sea scallops receive a Thai curry bath; Alaskan black cod gets a miso glaze. To match, Schneider has compiled a list of affordable gems like a crisp Billaud-Simon white Burgundy for $38, and unique ones like Silver’s smoky Santa Barbara Cabernet Franc for $48. Delicious and practical.
