After shuttering the much loved Encore in 2012, siblings Paul (chef) and Aileen (front-of-house manager) Reilly are back, now in the heart of Denver’s Uptown dining district. Reilly excels at earthy, soulful dishes like pan-roasted lamb with saffron, lentils and chanterelles. In response, sommelier JP Taylor looks mainly to the Old World, and groups the choices in five tidy price categories: $32, $38 (where Canale’s sparkling semillon beckons), $43, $49 (home to a juicy spätburgunder from August Kessler), and “+”, where labels top out at $94.
