The Willamette Valley Wineries Association Launches Site to Help Navigate COVID-19 Crisis

The Willamette Valley Wineries Association has brought its members together in response to the COVID-19 crisis, creating a gathering point for the wine community they serve. The WVWA has built a single omnibus website accessed here (or searchable on Instagram as #wvcommunity). The webpage highlights the status and available services for dozens of wineries, laying out special offers, package purchases, discounts and shipping deals as well as roadside pickup instructions for locals. In the coming days, the site will be host to diary entries from the front lines of Oregon wine country, as well as recipes, games, Spotify playlists, blog posts, virtual tasting invites and Q&A. It’s just getting started, so check back often; my favorite offer so far is Evesham Wood’s sommelier hotline—you pick up your wine and then consult by phone with their in-house sommelier if you have questions about pairing.

Patrick J. Comiskey covers US wines for Wine & Spirits magazine, focusing on the Pacific Northwest, California’s Central Coast and New York’s Finger Lakes.
