“It’s like an escape from the Bay Area,” says Shannon Tucker at Foreign Cinema of this tiny Berkeley izakaya. The yakitori go far beyond chicken tenders here: you can get hearts, gizzards and cartilage on a stick. Forget wine: Sake and sochu are the focus, or, for high-rollers, Japanese whiskey.
