The Shining Path
Ingredients
- ¾ floz Salers gentian liqueur
- ½ floz Avèze gentian liqueur
- ½ floz St. Germain elderflower liqueur
- ½ floz lemon juice
- ½ floz lemon cordial*
- Maurin Quina or Amaro Rinomato (optional)
- safflower blossoms (optional)
- Pinch of grated lemon zest
Lemon Cordial (makes 2 quarts)
- 1 floz vodka
- 10 lemons
- 32 floz lemon juice
- 32 oz superfine sugar
Instructions
- Add the first five ingredients to a stemmed pilsner glass. Add crushed ice. Swizzle. Garnish with a float of Maurin Quina or Amaro Rinomato, a safflower blossom and lemon zest.
Lemon Cordial
- Peel the lemons and put the rinds into a large container (Reserve the peeled lemons for another use.) Add vodka, and leave overnight or for 12 hours. Then add the lemon juice and sugar and whisk until dissolved. Strain into a clean container, cover and refrigerate. The cordial will last for three to four months.
