42 Below Manuka Honey Vodka - Wine & Spirits Magazine

42 Below Manuka Honey Vodka

We’re not typically big on flavored vodka, but 42 Below is an exception. This one gets its intriguing flavor from honey that bees produce from manuka (also known as teatree), a shrub indigenous to New Zealand. The honey is vapor distilled and blended with vodka made from Australian and New Zealand red winter wheat. The end product smells sweet with blossom and dark honey notes, but the flavor is surprisingly light and grassy, with a very light sweetness. Combined with some ginger beer, it makes a fantastic mule.
