Sonoma County Vintners Barrel Auction Goes Digital for 2020

Sonoma County Vintners, with sponsorship from American AgCredit, has announced that its sixth annual Sonoma County Barrel Auction will move to a virtual platform where wine-trade attendees click to bid.

This year’s auction lots from select Sonoma County wineries will be announced in early May, with the online event beginning on June 16 and closing on June 18. Winemakers will present their auction lots through video recordings. As in past auctions, invited trade attendees such as wholesalers, retailers and restaurateurs will bid on five, ten- and twenty-case lots; once the lots are bottled, winning bidders can then offer them as exclusives to their own customers.

The funds raised from the auction help support the foundation’s marketing and other initiatives, including community grants distributed to Sonoma County nonprofits each year. To learn more or request access to the online event, visit www.socobarrelauction.com, or contact info@sonomawine.com.
