October 8th marked the beginning of a series of wildfires that burned across Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino counties. More than 250,000 acres in Northern California had been consumed by the Tubbs, Atlas, and Nuns fires; while most wineries and many vineyards emerged unscathed, the fires destroyed an enormous amount of housing, leaving many winery and vineyard hands homeless. An estimated 8,900 structures were destroyed and over 90,000 people were forced to evacuate. There are still many organizations seeking help with recovery efforts. Here, some places to donate funds: UndocuFund American Red Cross Community Foundation Sonoma County Resilience Fund Community Foundation of Mendocino County Disaster Fund DirectRelief Napa Valley Community Foundation Disaster Relief Fund Redwood Credit Union’s North Bay Fire Relief United Way of the Wine Country Fire Relief Fund Charles Communications Associates Airbnb Also, events to attend: Petit Marlowe Wine Diner Series The Grateful Table And fundraising collaborations: Let’s Raise the Glass
