Three Seattle transplants, alums of Renee Erickson’s acclaimed restaurants, have opened Peninsula on Nashville’s east side. The list of G&Ts is the first tip-off that the peninsula that inspired the place is Iberian; the wine list confirms it, with bottles of bairrada from Tiago Teles and arinto from Caves Sao João in Portugal, as well as plenty of Spaniards. Chef Jake Howell keeps pace, turning out shareable plates with Mediterranean flavors, like a scallop tartare mixed with turnip and mint, and delicate braised rabbit in a garlic broth.
