Old Seelbach Bar

If you’re a Bourbon lover, sooner or later you’re going to end up in Louisville; if good fortune is on your side, you’re going to be staying at the Seelbach, one of the great old hotels of the South. And the Old Seelbach Bar, an institution since the early 1900s, happens to be one of the best Bourbon bars in the country. The mahogany surface is ideal for resting an elbow, the staff are exactly as friendly as you want them to be, and with a selection of over 45 to 50 different premium Bourbons, it’s the perfect place to relax at the end of a day. Settle back, sip a rarity like the Distiller’s Select Port Finish (at $55 a pour) or a more affordable small-batch offering, like the super high-proof George T. Stagg or Wild Turkey’s smooth Russell’s Reserve, and be glad you’re in Bourbon country again.
