MTN - Wine & Spirits Magazine

MTN

MTN is Gjelina chef Travis Lett’s homage to Japanese izakaya cuisine, and it occupys a new storefront down the street from the Gjelina flagship on Abbot Kinney, in Venice. It is dark and cool, tall tables flanked by stools and a dark-wood bar with seats in constant rotation. Ramen—expensive, flavorful, delicious ramen—is the cornerstone of the menu, yet small plates also excel, whether mushrooms roasted in yuzu butter, or Lone Mountain wagyu beef tataki. Henry Beylin’s beverage list is all white, heavy on shochu and dry and mineral sakes like Sohomare Karakuchi junmai, as well as wines like Kabaj’s Goriska Brda Amfora white blend and Kiralyudvar’s bracing Furmint Sec.
