Trick Dog

Josh Harris and Morgan Schick’s trendsetting Mission District bar took home the award for the world’s best cocktail menu at this year’s Tales of the Cocktail event in New Orleans. “Every time Trick Dog’s menu changes, it becomes the talk of the town; it’s like an opening night for a hit show,” says Lihiliho Yacht Club bar manager Erik Tennyson. One of their recent biannual menus was inspired by Dr. Seuss. Another paid homage to Stewart Brand’s Whole Earth Catalog, the DIY bible that bridged hippie back-to-the-land culture with the Bay Area’s emerging fascination with computing and information technology. The Funk Living cocktail blends Fords Gin with apricot kefir quinquina and Cappelletti.
