Few people know rum as well as Shannon Mustipher, head bartender at Glady’s, a Caribbean restaurant in Brooklyn, New York. In Tiki: Modern Tropical Cocktails (Rizzoli, 2019; $30), she highlights that spirit and others in Polynesian-inspired style, through classics like the Caipirinha, as well as her own thoughtful originals, like the Tamarandita, with aged rum, fernet, tamarind and banana milk. Her lively stories and Noah Fecks’s colorful photography give the book extra dimension.
