Rías Baixas Countdown

Albariño from Rías Baixas is always a wide open window to the cool breezes of the Atlantic and the best companion for everything that the Galician sea is willing to offer. Here are some Rias Baixas Albariños that we’ve recommended - a perfect list to start summer off right.

 Where to Buy

2014 Rías Baixas Pazo San Mauro (Best Buy) Part of the Marqués de Vargas group from Rioja, Pazo San Mauro is located in the Condado do Tea zone, with vineyards on terraces directly above the Minho River. Its 2014 is linear and mineral, built on a penetrating and sharp acidity. Austere and shy, it takes a few minutes in the glass for the fruit to emerge in apricot and pear scents over a creamy and refreshing texture. For grilled prawns. —Patricio Tapia
