L'Escale
|
|
L'Escale perched on the Greenwich waterfront, does an exceptional job of evoking the south of France throughout the summer. But when the cold reality of Connecticut winter sets in, it's time to drop the pastis, close the outdoor terrace and retreat to the coffered zinc bar. Here you'll find classic cocktails as well as drinks created by Anshu Vidyarthi, such as the New York Sour, a variation on a 1930s drink that combines the warming spiciness of rye whiskey with sugar and lemon and tops it with silky red wine. L'Escale may be French for "port of call," but this fortifying drink also makes it the perfect port in any storm.
