Chapon Fin
|
Chapon Fin is once again the place to propose in Bordeaux. Originally founded in 1824 and once regarded as the most romantic place in this port city of wine, the restaurant was re-opened this past September by Sylvie Cazes and her brother Jean-Michel (of the two-star Michelin success at Cordeillan-Bages, just down the road from their Pauillac château, Lynch-Bages). Chef Frank Ferigutti from La Rotonde in Lyons brings his own touch to the menu with innovations such as lobster tagine or fois gras poached in Bordeaux. You may find a bottle of Lynch-Bages or Ormes de Pez on the wine list, but Chapon Fin isn't about self-promotion. The Cazes hope the wide-ranging wine list will draw those taking classes at their new wine school just around the corner in Bordeaux Centre.
