VAVino lures pedestrians strolling Charlottesville's historic outdoor mall with windows brimming with wine corks and a rotating menu of 35 wines available by the taste, glass or bottle. The wine bar, steps from the Paramount Theatre, is the first tasting bar dedicated entirely to Virginia wines. Owned by winemaker Michael Shaps and King Family Vineyards' David and Ellen King, VAVino offers 220 wines by the bottle, including at least one from every Virginia winery.
