Roofers Union

It’s easy to find affordable food in Adams Morgan. What’s been harder is finding affordable, excellent food with drinks to match. That is, until Roofers Union opened this spring. The expansive space, with its bare-wood tables and soaring floor-to-ceiling windows, has a casual, beer-garden vibe, reinforced by the sausages chef Marjorie Meek-Bradley turns out on pretzel rolls and the ever-changing beer selections that pour from the bar’s 22 draft lines. But there’s much more on offer: Bar manager Dave Delaplaine has culled a smart list of ciders, meads and affordably delicious wines. Think Pratsch Grüner Veltliner and Peay’s Cep Pinot Noir, with almost all bottles falling under $50.
