Martha - Wine & Spirits Magazine

Martha

Not yet a year old, Martha is a standout in trendy Kensington. Owner John Medlinsky built beverage programs all over town before opening Martha, where he’s bent on curating the best selection of locally produced beer, wine and spirits in the city. His list is proof of the growing caliber of Pennsylvania wines, with bottles like a bright grüner veltliner from Penns Woods Winery; La Prima Donna, an orange wine from Va La Vineyards in Avondale; and a rich pinot grigio by the up-and-coming wine wunderkinds at WayVine (formerly Wilson Vineyard) in Nottingham. Fully two-thirds of the by-the-glass list is local, not to mention the overflowing spirits collection, including several selections—Rowhouse Spirits, Red Brick Cra Distillery, New Liberty Distilling, and Philadelphia Distilling—that are made within walking distance of Martha.
